Ms. Kelley Cahoon
Ms. Cahoon provides therapy for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, adjustment issues, and disruptive behaviors. Her therapeutic approaches are individualized based on the client’s needs and may include child-centered play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational Interviewing, and/or family systems work. Ms. Cahoon is especially skilled at creating a safe, supportive environment for children and teens, while engaging caregivers as essential partners in the healing process. Her work with adults helps address barriers to growth.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Cahoon has held multiple leadership and supervisory roles, including serving as a Site Director at a large outpatient practice. She has also provided clinical supervision for counselors pursuing licensure. Ms. Cahoon brings a long-standing commitment to fostering ethical, high-quality care in the mental health field, ensuring that clients and clinicians alike feel supported, respected, and empowered.
Ms. Cahoon earned her Master of Education in Counseling and Development from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Mary Washington College. She has been licensed as a Professional Counselor in Virginia since 2002.
