Kelley Cahoon, M.Ed., LPC

Ms. Kelley Cahoon is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families across a variety of settings—including outpatient therapy, residential treatment, and home-based services. She is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges with warmth, clarity, and practical guidance. 

Ms. Cahoon provides therapy for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment issues, and disruptive behaviors. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in child-centered play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and family systems work. Ms. Cahoon is especially skilled at creating a safe, supportive environment for young clients while engaging caregivers as essential partners in the healing process.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Cahoon has held multiple leadership and supervisory roles, including serving as a Site Director at a large outpatient practice. She has also provided clinical supervision for counselors pursuing licensure. Ms. Cahoon brings a long-standing commitment to fostering ethical, high-quality care in the mental health field, ensuring that clients and clinicians alike feel supported, respected, and empowered.

Ms. Cahoon earned her Master of Education in Counseling and Development from George Mason University and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Mary Washington College. She has been licensed as a Professional Counselor in Virginia since 2002.

Outside the therapy room, Ms. Cahoon is a devoted single mom to her adopted son. She’s an enthusiastic Disney traveler who believes in the power of joyful connection and shared experiences, and she’s currently learning to play pickleball. Whether supporting families or spending time with her own, Ms. Cahoon brings the same core values of empathy, connection, and hope to everything she does.
